New CATE-SIG – Environmental and Sustainability Education in Teacher Education: Invitation to Support

Dear ESE-TE Network,

If you are a current member of CSSE – or soon to become a member – please see the message below about a proposed Special Interest Group within CATE.

—————

Hello CSSE members,

We are a group of Environmental and Sustainability Education Teacher Educators who are applying with the Canadian Association for Teacher Education (CATE) to establish a Special Interest Group (SIG) in Environmental and Sustainability Education in Teacher Education.

As part of the application, we are required to identify ‘active’ CATE members (minimum of fifteen active members).

This is an appeal to ‘active’ CATE members (and those who may consider becoming ‘active’) to identify their support and future involvement with our proposed SIG. We are an inclusive group recognizing a variety of diversely related sub-fields (e.g., Education for Sustainable Development, Education for Sustainability, Ecojustice Education, Environmental Education, Place-based Education, Land-based Education, Climate Change Education, etc.).

If this is something you are interested in supporting through future contributions to our SIG (e.g., conference submissions, KM, networking, collaboration, research, publications, etc.) please consider signing our form by Thursday, April 10, 2025.

Thank you,

Doug
